COACHING Waikato Badminton strives to maintain a high standard of coaching for all players. This ranges from the Junior Development Squads through to the High Performance Squad. Since 2004 Waikato has employed professional coaches on a full time or part time basis. These international experienced coaches are assisted by the Development Officer and volunteer coaches who are playing a vital role in the continuity and sustainability of the various coaching programmes. Badminton can be a challenging sport to master due to its complex mix of technique, tactical, physical and mental skills but then again it is easy to start playing as it requires only few resources and is relatively inexpensive.
